Dr. Kimberly Hanysak was born to be an orthodontist! With both parents and grandfather being orthodontists, she grew up restocking office supplies, sterilizing instruments, working at the front desk, and learning the heart of the profession as a young girl. She loved visiting her grandparents, regularly working in her grandfather’s orthodontic office and assisting in the lab and at chairside. Watching her grandfather’s careful attention to detail while building lifelong relationships with his patients, she was inspired to follow in his footsteps.
Born and raised in Texas, Dr. Hanysak earned her bachelor’s degree from Baylor University and her dental degree (DDS) from Baylor College of Dentistry. After becoming a dentist, Dr. Hanysak was selected to train at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio for an additional three-year residency in the specialty of orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics while simultaneously completing her Master’s in Dental Diagnostic Sciences.
As a third-generation orthodontist, Dr. Hanysak continued her family legacy by practicing in San Antonio while her husband, Bryan Hanysak, (also a Baylor Bear!) finished his residency and fellowship in gastroenterology. They happily returned to Waco with their two amazing sons, Luke and Heath, and have been a part of the community for over 16 years. Dr. Hanysak describes her faith, her family, and her profession as the most important things in her life. She and her family attend Fellowship Bible Church where they serve as active members.
